There's a decent sound from the sx stompbox. It's pressure sensitive so the harder you tap the louder the effect. On the plus side having both an input and output means that you can pass the guitar/bass and the stompbox into a single channel on your amplifier or mixing desk/p.a. system. I haven't used it yet in a live gig but have practiced with it at home and was pleasantly surprised by it's performance considering how cheap it cost me. It is very sturdy for road use and is powered by a 9 volt battery. Lisburn music Centre dispatched it very quickly to me and it was a bargain, I would definitely recommend this valuable piece of kit to any musician either novice or professional.
